Al Jazeera Media Network
Overview
Al Jazeera is one of the largest and most prominent Arab News Networks in the Middle East and around the globe. Based in Doha, Al Jazeera has come to the forefront of the Arab media world since its inception in 1996 and has been characterized by its dedication to providing accurate and unbiased news. In 2006, Al Jazeera began airing Al Jazeera English, a sister channel that is the first English language news channel of its kind based in the Middle East. Al Jazeera English currently has 3 broadcast centers including one in Doha, London, and Washington, D.C.
In addition to its two main broadcast centers, Al Jazeera English itself has 21 sites around the world that gather and produce news. It also shares resources with its sister channel’s for a total of 70 news sites. This large number of sites is largely to Al Jazeera’s belief that the best information comes from talking to people on the ground. They have attempted to create one of the biggest news gathering operations in the world, ensuring a steady flow of fast and accurate news.
