Overview
AQH established Al Qamra Real Estate which is a development company concentrating in the fields of investment, commercial, and residential real estate in Qatar and beyond. The establishment of this business was in response to the projected growth of the real estate market in Qatar. In the area of aquaculture, AQH seeks to support Qatar’s food security initiatives of lowering reliance on imports from other countries and achieving self-sufficiency in fish consumption and the protection of species. An example of this would be Samakna, which is a fish farming project that will provide more than 3,000 metric tons of high quality fish. AQH’s primary agriculture company, First Agriculture, was also awarded the project of planning greed fodder. The project consists of the strategic plan for animal food self sufficiency in Qatar. A large land allocation of 261 hectares in the Um Ghuwailina area was gifted to First Agriculture, with 90% of production being received by the government for long term sustainability. AQH established Qatar Lubricants & Petrochemicals in 2013 in light of the recent and rapid growth of the industrial sector in Qatar. Qatar Lubricants & Petrochemicals is one of the largest transporters and refiners of used oil in Qatar.
