Overview

The Ministry of Culture and Sports (MOCS) aims to enhance the role of culture by preserving identity and improving the cultural scene through initiatives such as the sponsoring and supporting of cultural productions, organizing events that contribute to cultural communication with the various multicultural communities, and enhancing Qatar’s cultural status both regionally and abroad. Some of their centers include: the Al Jasra Cultural and Social Club, Qatar poetry Center “Diwan Al Arab”, and Qatari Forum for Authors. The Ministry’s policy on sports aims to promote community participation in sports and physical activities in order to make Qatar a healthier country. The Ministry also seeks to create an environment that encourages the private sector to participate in sports investment partnerships that  support the development of national sports clubs and key organizations. Some of their sports clubs include Al Ahli Sports Club, Al-Duhail Sports Club and Qatar Racing, and Equestrian Club.
