UrbaCon Trading & Contracting Company (UCC)
UrbaCon Trading & Contracting Company LLC, or UCC, is a Qatari-based worldwide construction firm with over 30 years of experience in everything from motorways and bridges to luxury residential and hotel projects. Mohamad Raslan Al Khayyat founded the company in Syria in 1983, when it was known as Al Khayyat Contracting and Trading (KCT). It was then re-established as UrbaCon Trading & Contracting Company in 2011. The company is primarily based in Qatar, but it has activities throughout the GCC, the United States, Europe, and Asia.
UCC has enjoyed impressive growth since its inception in 2011, as it aims to continue to further diversify its markets for the future. UCC is always looking for ways to improve its methods and, as a result, its performance, while putting a strong emphasis on quality, safety, and productivity. UCC is already fairly diverse, with enterprises involved in facility management, hospitality, shipping, restaurants, clinics, retail, real estate, cargo, travel, manufacturing, farming, and farm goods, among other things. While the company is already well established within the construction sector, it is also expanding into the oil and gas field with major infrastructure.
Throughout the years, UCC has undertaken a diverse array of projects ranging from palaces, hotels, football stadiums, marine works and underground car parks and football stadia. Some of their projects include Lusail Islands, Hamad Airport Taxiway, Mall of Qatar and Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi.
UCC has maintained profitability with a diverse local and international portfolio since its inception. Today, UCC is one of the best construction and contracting businesses in the Arab world. UrbaCon Trading and Contracting (UCC) was ranked in the 2019 edition of the renowned Engineering News-Record’s (ENR) top 250 Global Contractors. UCC was the only Qatari company to appear on the list that year, earning the 194th spot alongside leading global organizations in the construction sector.
